Surrender
Making the decision to re-home a dog is incredibly difficult, and it's normal to feel confused, heartbroken, or guilty. Before surrendering your dog to a rescue, it is important to explore all your options and consider if the issue is temporary or a permanent inability to provide a safe and happy home.
But sometimes life changes in ways that you realize that your home is no longer the best place for the dog. Changes in work schedule, finances, or a health crisis can make re-homing the dog necessary.
You can start the process by filling out the Surrender form. We will get back to you to talk over your situation.
Note that for many behavior issues we can find an experienced foster family or trainer to help, but some aggression or biting issues may make the dog unsafe to place in a new home.
We do ask for a donation of $100–$200 depending on the dog’s health and transportation needs. But we will not turn away any dog that we can place with a new family.
